Lena Militisi  the Head of BCR's Legal Department.She has worked at the bank for the last seven years. She is a professional, with solid academic qualifications and work experience to boot.

She also doubles up as the Company Secretary. She is a lawyer who obtained her law degree from the University of Saint Louis in Brussels, in 2002.

She proceeded for further studies in France where she obtained a further qualification from the University of Artois. In 2003, she got her masters in France, at the University of Toulouse I.

In 2000, she did an internship in Kigali at United Nations Economic Commission for Africa. After returning in Rwanda in 2004, she was recruited as Legal Advisor attaché to the Finance Ministry, where she was mainly responsible for contracts under the responsibility of the Ministry. in this role her job involved ensuring that terms of contracts are respected; she would take part in negotiations to ensure conformity to national regulations.

She then moved to the position of Treasury Counselor within the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning. Her main responsibilities included advising the Secretary General and Secretary to the Treasury on all issues related to the Treasury and with legal implications, public contracts, all international conventions with implications on public finance and creating obligations for the State.

She was also required to initiate reforms to be approved by the Secretary General for matters under his/her responsibility. She also established and supervised a forum of all lawyers attached to the Ministry of Finance. The Counselor was also the institutional memory for matters related to the Treasury.
