Founded in May 1963, and privatized in December 2004, BCR has a strong reputation for quality services and enjoys a large branch network around the country, with its head offices in Kigali.

BCR is a private commercial bank now owned by ACTIS with 80% shareholding and the Government of Rwanda with 20%.

ACTIS is a leading private equity investor in emerging markets based in the UK with a major focus on Africa. ACTIS’s mandate is not only to profitably manage its investments but also to contribute to the evolution and development of the economic sectors in the country.
